Today is Valentine’s day, I think someone told me once that this day was actually created by the card, candy or flower industry, who know maybe all the above. So yes I did as some of you know already give my wife flowers today. We were talking on our way to Crossfit when she mentioned that others at her work gave her candy and chocolate covered strawberries (milk chocolate I am sure) I was happy to hear that she gladly gave it all away and stuck with her primal eating. I told her I wish they would have just given you the strawberries instead. This got me thinking about all the sugar that was given out today. I have been watching a documentary about sugar and cannot believe that the average person eats 42 Tablespoons of sugar everyday. Then we have holidays that we just pass more of it out. I am not against Valentine’s day or any other holiday, just against all that sugar. Can you imagine taking a container of sugar and eating 42Tablespoons throughout the day of the stuff. Oh and in case you are wondering Sugar is Sugar doesn’t matter if it is high fructose corn syrup, cane sugar, or some other form; it is all still sugar. So next time you are craving something sweet grab some berries or maybe some Dark Chocolate 70+%, yes they still have sugar but a lot less of it.
